Theodoros Economou
The work by Theodoros Economou from Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), The Cyprus Institute, Cyprus and his colleagues* on ‘Quantifying the synergy of environmental stressors on human mortality‘ did consider the compound effects of heat and air pollution on mortality.
The authors took a novel approach to investigate a growing societal problem in this study, also reflecting the conference theme of ‘Europe and droughts: Hydrometeorological processes, forecasting and preparedness‘, and informs on strategies for combating these environmental stresses.
