5th ENES Workshop on High Performance Computing for Climate and Weather

The main focus of the workshop, building on the previous ENES HPC workshops, will be on high-resolution modelling. It will also address other issues such as Domain Specific Language, Coupling & I/O tools and will involve discussions about European and international HPC ecosystems and data centres support, as well ad the relationship with the EC strategy on HPC.

EUMETSAT, the European meteorological satellite agency, is recruiting an Instrument Data Processing Team Leader with extensive knowledge of instrument data processing, including Image Navigation and Registration (INR), radiometric correction and calibration algorithms, gained in an operational Space environment.

Future weather - future challenges

“Future Weather, Future Challenges” was a one-day event encompassing three session on the challenges of future weather and climate change. There was a stimulating and engaging line-up of speakers, including two EMS Silver Medal recipients, exploring the ways that weather and climate can impact on Irish society.
