The report is a snapshot that shows the Society’s work in supporting professionals and advancing the science of meteorology, in what was an unprecedented year. It also highlights campaigns and channels that connected with a broader public audience about weather and climate.

The 16-page report showcases each area of key activity that the Society supports: membership and accreditation, publications, events, education and outreach and includes highlights and notable work of the Society’s charitable objectives, as well as feedback received over the past year.

Prof Liz Bentley, Chief Executive of the Royal Meteorological Society said: “It’s a great opportunity to reflect on everything that we have achieved over what was a particularly challenging year. The Impact Report is an excellent way to supplement our annual report and accounts and showcase the breadth of our work in advancing the understanding of weather and climate and its application for the benefit of all. This report leads us into our new strategic plan for 2021-2023, where we will be building on that momentum to create a modern and progressive Society for weather and climate.”
