Vesna Đuričić, president of the Croatian Meteorological Society (HMD)

Vesna Đuričić is the current President of Hrvatsko meteorološko društvo (HMD), the Croatian Meteorological Society, and is representing the Society on the EMS Council 2023 to 2026.

As a HMD member from 1982 she was a member of Administrative board in several mandates as well as the treasurer. She was Chief Editor, Technical editor or member of Editorial board of Croatian Meteorological Journal – scientific journal published by HMD. She was (is) also a member or Chief of Organizing Committee of scientific-professional conference with international participation Challenges in meteorology, organized by HMD. She was Head of KvarnerExtrem – EU project run by HMD in 2022-2023.

Vesna Đuričić is a meteorologist, and worked in Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) from 1982 till her retirement by the end of 2021. Most of her professional carrier was spent in the Meteorological Research and Development Sector on research of environmental protection, analyses of atmospheric processes that impact composition of the atmosphere boundary layer, air quality, especially precipitation quality and connction between air pollution composition and meteorological parameters.
Vesna has been the Head of Chemical Laboratory in DHMZ for five years and lead the laboratory to accreditation according ISO 17025 norm. The For the last couple of years at DHMZ she was also Quality and Risk manager.
During her working period as meteorologist, Vesna represented DHMZ in many national and international conference boards, projects and scientific bodies.
