Postdoctoral Research Assistant in satellite imager retrievals of volcanic and hydrometeor clouds

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics, Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford. The post will join the Earth Observation Data Group and will work on satellite retrievals of aerosol and cloud properties using the ORAC retrieval code.

Focus of the role: analysis of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai eruption cloud, followed by the Greenland aerosol-cloud interactions project, with emphasis on geophysical interpretation, publication, and development of transferable Python/Fortran data-analysis skills.

Applicants sought: PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in physics, atmospheric science, Earth observation, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Strong computing ability is important.
