Postdoc position: climate modeller
Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), Norrköping, Sweden
Closing date: 31 July 2018
The successful candidate will work with qualified research and method development for application and analysis of results from global climate models. The focus is on climate prediction, analysis of prediction skill and related climate processes. Existing climate prediction experiments will be analyzed and new model experiments launched. Scientific questions are possible links between climate variables and climate extremes, and the result’s dependence on the model’s spatial resolution. Climate prediction is of a global nature, but the analysis focuses on the North Atlantic, the Arctic and Europe.
Documentation of the development and analysis work in scientific publications and reports is an important part of the work as well as collaborating with colleagues at SMHI.
The work is carried out within the framework of European projects, which means good development opportunities both individually and together with other SMHI researchers.
The employment is limited to two years with placement in Norrköping, Sweden.
