Roope Tervo

Roope Tervo is Data Analytics and Cloud Operations Lead at EUMETSAT, working on cloud-based platforms for large-scale Earth observation data processing and machine learning applications. He focuses on enabling users to exploit satellite data for advanced analytics and operational services.

Before joining EUMETSAT, Roope spent over a decade at the Finnish Meteorological Institute in various roles, including Lead Architect, Customer Service Development Manager, and Software Developer for customer services. He holds a PhD in machine learning from Aalto University, with research focusing on weather impact modelling and the integration of meteorological data with domain-specific applications.
