Mónika Lakatos

Mónika Lakatos is a climate expert at HungaroMet and Head of the Climate Research Department. Her work focuses on climate research, climate extremes, climate variability and change, and the provision of climate services.

She has served as President of the Hungarian Meteorological Society since 2022, with her current term running until 2030. She also chairs the Climate Subcommittee of the Scientific Committee on Meteorology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

At the European and international level, she is a member of the EUMETNET Climate Programme Management and serves as Vice-Chair of the WMO Regional Association VI Working Group on Applications and Services.
