Erland Källén

Erland Källén is representing the Svenska Meteorologisk Skälskapet (SMS) on the EMS Council 2024 to 2027.

Erland Källén has spent most of his career at Stockholm University teaching and doing research in the area of dynamic meteorology. He was Director of Research at ECMWF during the years 2009-2017 and Director of the Centre for Climate Research Singapore for the period 2018-2020. He retired as professor of dynamic meteorology in 2022.

Presently Erland Källén is the chief editor of Polarfront, the membership journal of the Swedish Meteorological Society. He is also an active member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences in Sweden as well as a member of Academia Europea.
