Dick Blaauboer

As a self-employed consultant in meteorology at Blaauboer MeteoAdvice, founded in January 2022 in the Netherlands, Dick supports and advises meteorological partners in taking new initiatives, initiating strategy development processes and fostering collaboration with various partners.

As a physics graduate of Utrecht University Dick joined KNMI, where he developed as an all round meteorologist with both research and operational experience. In his role as meteorological advisor with national and international experience he is keen at building bridges between science and operation in an international environment. His position at KNMI enabled Dick to engage with several meteorological partners, including United Weather Centres (UWC), EUMETNET (forecasting domain), COST (vice-chair of Domain Committee Earth System Science and Environmental
Management) and WMO.
