Outstanding Poster Award EMS2025
The EMS 2025 outstanding poster award winner is Csilla Ilyés-Vincze, with a poster presenting the work by her and her colleagues: Adrienn Varga-Balogh, Ádám Leelőssy and Róbert Mészáros from ELTE Eötvös Loránd University, Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences, Department of Meteorology, Budapest, Hungary and HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research, Institute of Ecology and Botany. Csilla Ilyés-Vincze also received an EMS Young ScientistConference Award for the EMS2025 Annual Meeting.
The committee has unanimously selected the poster ‘Hive Weight Time Series Prediction Using Meteorological Factors During R. Pseudoacacia Nectar Flow‘, a decision strongly supported by the public vote.
“The eye-catching style of this poster and its intuitive structure met design criteria for the poster award. The committee also felt that the winning poster nicely aligns with the focus of the 2025 Annual Meeting, reflecting the growing use of AI/ML in atmospheric sciences and meteorological applications.

The committee also welcomed the novel, original and innovative application of weather data to the subject of beekeeping. The results have real, societal value and application in that the beekeeping community can draw on this work and, for example, apply it to publicly available weather forecasts to help optimise efficient beekeeping practices. The work is scientifically relevant meeting the scientific criteria for the award and is published in a peer-reviewed journal.”
The winner was announced during the closing ceremony of the EMS Annual Meeting 2025 on Friday 12 September in Ljubljana. The prize includes one registration fee waiver for the EMS Annual Meeting 2026 in Utrecht, where the winnng poster will also be on display.
