Postdoc researcher in high-fidelity numerical weather prediction

University of Exeter, UK
Closing date: 5 April 2023

The Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy at the University of Exeter is looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to work with Dr Georgios Efstathiou and Prof Robert Beare on the NERC-funded project “A novel turbulence closure for high-fidelity numerical weather prediction” which aims to improve the atmospheric boundary layer evolution and moist convection development at sub-kilometric resolutions in the Met Office Unified Model.

This project is part of a broader NERC/Met Office research programme that will combine new observational data and process modelling of the atmosphere with theoretical developments to improve model representations of boundary layer and convective moist turbulence appropriate for kilometric and sub-kilometric scales.
