Post-doctoral fellow position on generative modelling of weather applications

SMHI is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral fellow position at the Research and Development Department, Meteorology Research Unit, to strengthen the research activities in machine learning and more specifically generative modelling of weather applications. The work will be done within an EU-funded project (Weather Generator, https://player.vimeo.com/video/1050751131) with the goal of developing a foundation model for the land and atmosphere. The main responsibility for the position is to develop a generative model that can be used to extend the basic model to handle more data sources and for adaptations to specific applications.
