The CMCC Foundation is a scientific research center on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, the world of business, and policymakers. The work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment, and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.
The Division of Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC Division) focuses on research and development in the field of scientific computing applied to climate and environmental applications.

The Division is looking for talented and enthusiastic people for joining a dynamic working environment. In particular, ASC Division is looking for a new position of Junior Scientific Manager, responsible for supporting the management and implementation of ongoing scientific research projects.

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include:

  • management control of the projects assigned, in agreement with the Division;
  • Director and Division Manager and supporting ASC scientists;
  • project reporting, tracking and monitoring;
  • support to project budgeting, financial reporting and control;
  • risk management and data management;
  • communication among internal and external partners;
  • implementation of outreach activities and stakeholder engagement, such as organizing meetings and workshops.

Essential Requirements

  • M.Sc Degree in Management Engineering, Economics or Scientific Disciplines;
  • 2+ years work experience in Project cost reporting/Management/Coordination;
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in European Funding Programme, including ethical issues, data management plan, IPR management, Risk management and contingency plan, Quality control and assurance;
  • fluency in both written and spoken English language;
  • very good knowledge of the Office Suite;
  • teamworking attitude and ability to work independently.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP software (an advantage but not required);
  • communications and fundraising skills/experience;
  • strong problem-solving attitude;
  • ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines.

Duration, Compenstaion & Benefits

  • The appointment period will be initially of 12° months starting from April 2024, renewable on an annual basis pending a positive evaluation.
  • The gross annual salary range is from 28 to 36K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience.
