Purpose & objectives:
The aim of NVBM is to improve the quality in the meteorological professions with respect to scientific and social aspects. This means working on improvement and maintenance of professional knowledge, on the acknowledgement of the profession, and strengthing of bonds between members.
Main activities:
- The member magazine Meteorologica (Dutch only) is produced four times each year
- Organisation of a symposium on topical subjects at least once a year, also providing oppurtunities for social gatherings and networkings
Recent news and activities:
- Excursion to the Royal Meteororological Iinstitute and to the observatory in Ukkel/Uccle, Belgium
- Dutch Met Society visits Deltares and Delft faculty of Aerospace Engineering
