GFL is a professional non-profit member organisation of the academic Trade Union AKAVA/JUKO/YKL in Finland. AKAVA negotiates all work life related issues for its members. GFL members are meteorologists, hydrologists, oceanographers, geographers, … who are working mainly at the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Finnish Environment Institute.

Main activities:

• Organisation of meeting, seminars and field trips
• Participation in international co-operation (EMS)
• “Daily” activities include to inform and provide support for GFL members in work-life and work related issues
