The Department of Hydrology and Climatology of Vilnius University offers undergraduate studies (four-year programme meteorology and  hydrology ) and graduate studies for both M.Sc. (two-year programme of hydrometeorology) and Ph.D. degrees. Each year 25 new undergraduate students are admitted, 10 graduate students (M.Sc.) , and 1-2 as phD students.
Staff composition: 3 at professor level, 2 at associate professor level, 5 lecturers and 3 technicians.

Major areas of research include:

  • Applied meteorology and climate change
  • Surface hydrology and limnology
  • Oceanography

Since 1930, more than 700 students have graduated in meteorology and hydrology.
