Purpose & objectives:

The APMG aims to further the development meteorological, geophysical and related sciences and its applications, and facilitate co-operation in these areas.

Main activities:

  • To promote the organisation and implementation of scientific and technical conferences, symposium, workshops and other meteorology and geophysics dissemination activities;
  • To promote, disseminate and act in defense of ethical and deontological own scientific activities, teachers and professionals in the fields of meteorology and geophysics;
  • To continue and expand collaboration with institutional entities, operating in meteorology, geophysics, prevention of natural disasters and related areas, namely, the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere, Universities and Air Force;
  • To maintain and increase participation in the European Meteorological Society (EMS) and on its bodies and specific committees as well as in the Latin American and Iberian Federation of Meteorological Societies (FLISMET).
