PREVENT – Early Career Forum on Mediterranean Seasonal Forecasting Research

The PREVENT Seasonal Climate Forecasting Forum 2026 is a ten-day immersive scientific event dedicated to advancing seasonal climate prediction, understanding climate extremes, and connecting cutting-edge research with real-world societal impacts across the Mediterranean.

The forum will explore dynamical and statistical seasonal forecasting, bias correction methods, and causal analysis of climate variability and extremes, alongside applications in water management, health risk, agriculture, and climate services.

Applications are open to early-career researchers, including:

  • Doctoral candidates
  • Postdoctoral researchers
  • Young professionals working in climate science or related impact sectors

Relevant fields include seasonal forecasting, climate extremes, climate data analysis, and sectoral climate applications (e.g., water, health, agriculture, risk management).

To apply, candidates must submit via the online application form by 31 May 2026:

  • A short CV (maximum 2 pages)
  • A brief abstract describing current research and its relevance to the forum themes

Application form: https://forms.gle/cpvuaspuPe3Gx5YFA

Selected participants are expected to:
