The 2026 Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society will take place as a hybrid event at the Jaarbeurs conference centre in Utrecht, The Netherlands & online from 6 to 11 September 2026. The Programme and Science Committee together with conveners has developed a session programme that will offer many opportunities for collaboration across the entire weather and climate enterprise. We invite the community to join us for discussions and networking.

A programmatic focus of the 2026 Annual Meeting that reflects particular interests and activities of the host institutions will be on the challenges for the broad European meteorological infrastructure posed by climate change: To develop tools for early warnings and societal preparedness in a changing European climate. More

The theme will be prominently discussed in the plenary & strategic events. Session conveners are welcome to consider addressing specific aspects of this focus if it is relevant to the scope of their session; however, this is no requirement.
