Challenges in Meteorology 11 (MI-11)

The Croatian Meteorological Society (HMD) is pleased to announce the scientific-professional conference Challenges in Meteorology 11 (MI-11), which will be held in Zagreb on 12–13 November 2026 at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Svetošimunska cesta 23.

The theme of this year’s conference is Weather Forecast: Challenges and Future Directions.

The conference objectives:

• discussing ways in which meteorology can  improve its products, especially weather forecasts, with the aim of ensuring safety and smooth continuation of human activities
• exchanging knowledge and the latest scientific achievements in the fields of synoptic and general meteorology, numerical modelling, climatology, applied meteorology, environmental protection and sustainable development
• strengthening communication between the scientific community and users of meteorological data and products, the general public and the media
• actively promote and popularize meteorology.

The conference is open to all users and providers of meteorological information.

The expected outcomes:

• strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation between meteorologists and users from various social and economic sectors
• raising awareness of the importance of quality and continuous communication among all relevant stakeholders.
