7th WGNE Workshop on Systematic Errors in Weather and Earth System Models
Abstract submission is now open for the 7th WGNE Workshop on Systematic Errors in Weather and Earth System Models (SEW 2027), will be hosted by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) in Pune, India, from 15–19 February 2027.
The workshop is organised by the Working Group on Numerical Experimentation (WGNE) and will focus on systematic errors in weather and Earth system models.
Contributions on systematic errors in both physics-based and machine-learning-based models, covering all components of the Earth system, including coupled and individual component models, are welcome.
Submissions are invited under the following broad themes:
- Diagnosing and attributing systematic errors – Scale interactions and resolution transitions
- Deficiencies in physical parameterisation
- Coupled Earth system feedbacks
- Impacts on circulation, variability, and predictability
- Uncertainty and ensembles
The workshop is open to participants at all career stages.
Further details, including the workshop objectives, programme, abstract submission instructions, and registration timeline, are available on the SEW 2027 event website.
Abstracts can be submitted here until 31 July 2026.
