6th CM SAF User Workshop
From 28 – 30 January 2025 the 6th CM SAF User Workshop on Research and Applications using satellite-based Climate Data Records will take place at Gustav-Stresemann-Institut in Bonn, Germany.
This workshop will focus on discussions with the science community and users on research and applications using satellite -based climate data records. A specific focus will be on key science questions around climate monitoring as well as the analysis of climate change and variability. In addition, the workshop collects feedback on the application and usefulness of satellite-based climate data records in this context.
The objectives of the workshop are:
- to provide an overview of the CM SAF and SAF network climate data records (CDRs),
- to identify needed improvements, adaptations and extensions related to currently available CDRs to increase the fitness-for-purpose in climate monitoring,
- to identify opportunities to allow early developments for future capacity development,
- to provide a platform to network with climate science experts, with others users and with experts from CM SAF and the SAF network.
The workshop will be composed of a mixture of presentations, interactive discussion and poster sessions. The following sessions are currently considered:
- Monitoring of climate change and variability on global and regional scales
- Support to (climate) modelling, reanalysis, climate services and other ECVs
- Taking advantage of new opportunities, technologies and sensors: Where do we go with satellite-based data records and related services?
The workshop will be an in-person meeting, with the objective to foster discussions and exchange.
Your contribution to the workshop
Presentations on all aspects of applications of satellite climate data records, in particular on climate monitoring, change and variability and related to CM SAF data are welcome. Please consider to submit an abstract during registration!
Registration for the workshop:
There is no registration fee. Please indicate whether you would like to contribute to the workshop with a poster or an oral presentation during registration and submit the abstract at the time of registration.
Please register and submit an abstract until 01 December 2024 for your presentation to be considered. Registration for attending without a poster/presentation is possible until 15 January 2025.
