EMS2025 in Ljubljana – abstracts until 14 April
The 2025 Annual Meeting of the EMS will take place as a hybrid event at the Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana, Slovenia & online from 7 to 12 September 2025. The local hosts are Slovenian Meteorological Society, Slovenian Environment Agency, and the University of Ljubljana with the Biotechnical Faculty as well as the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
The Programme and Science Committee together with convenors has developed a session programme that will offer many opportunities for collaboration across the entire weather and climate enterprise. We invite the community to join us for discussions and networking.
Submit your abstract until 14 April 2025 to contribute to the Annual Meeting.
The focal theme this year is Growing use of AI/ML – with a particular focus on flooding and warnings
With this theme we will address how the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) is reshaping our understanding of the complex interaction between the atmosphere, climate, and human society. By analysing real-time data from all the available sources, AI/ML algorithms can probably also help to generate timely and accurate warnings, enabling authorities to take proactive measures to protect lives and property.
This will be discussed in a plenary panel on the opening day and through the strategic and keynote lectures.
