The EMS2023 will take place as a hybrid event at the University of Economics in Bratislava & online from 4 to 8 September 2023. The PSC together with convenors has developed a session programme that will offer many opportunities for collaboration across the entire weather and climate enterprise. [more]

New Learning Portal for Africa

Ahead of the COP27 in November 2022, the newly founded African Meteorological Society has worked in collaboration with the UK’s Royal Meteorological Society to produce a suite of learning resources for their website africanmetsociety.org.[more]

Inauguration ceremony of AfMS

In 2021, the Meteorological Societies in Africa have established a permanent organization called African Meteorological Society (AfMS) for their cooperation to build capacity in Africa.  Similar to the EMS, the AfMS is the association of meteorological societies from the African continent.[more]

EMS Council and General Assembly 2022

The EMS General Assembly on 4 Septenber elected two new Council representatives, discussed the status of implementation of the Strategic Plan. It was also considered how nominations for awards can be increased. Dick Blaauboer was welcome as the new chair of the EMS CoM and Sylvain Joffre honoured for his outstanding contributions to develop the Annual Meeting to the forum it is today.[more]

Branislava Lalić wins EMS Tromp Award 2022

Branislava Lalić was selected for the  EMS Tromp Award for an outstanding achievement in biometeorology 2022, awarded for the publication: “Identifying Crop and Orchard Growing Stages Using Conventional Temperature and Humidity Reports“, published in the Proceedings of the Atmosphere 2022. Branislava Lalić is a Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad.[more]
