Emanuele Bompan

Emanuele Bompan is honoured for acting as an important communicator to build bridges between public and science as well as investigating climate change policy making.

The work of Emanuele Bompan is highly relevant and addresses important topics concerning climate change: Climate change and biodiversity, double roles connected to climate negotiations, and how indigenous people’s rights have been pushed aside. His work can be described as investigative journalism, digging into stories about how solutions to the climate crisis have attracted actors who both benefit from seeking solutions as well as helping the fossil industry. His work also covers questions about land disputes, economic interests, nature and climate change and explains the term “climate racism”. Bompan’s journalistic contribution is important for raising awareness about problems connected to tackling climate change and finding good sustainable solutions. He has also reported on circular economy, innovation, energy, sustainable mobility and green-economy.
