Csilla Ilyés-Vincze
The EMS2025 outstanding poster award was won by Csilla Ilyés-Vincze from the ELTE Eötvös Loránd University with a poster Hive Weight Time Series Prediction Using Meteorological Factors During R. Pseudoacacia Nectar Flow, presenting the work by her and her colleagues: Adrienn Varga-Balogh, Ádám Leelössy and Róbert Mészáro.
The eye-catching style of this poster and its intuitive structure met design criteria for the poster award. The committee also felt that the winning poster nicely aligns with the focus of the 2025 Annual Meeting, reflecting the growing use of AI/ML in atmospheric sciences and meteorological applications.
The committee also welcomed the novel, original and innovative application of weather data to the subject of beekeeping. The results have real, societal value and application in that the beekeeping community can draw on this work and, for example, apply it to publicly available weather forecasts to help optimise efficient beekeeping practices. The work is scientifically relevant, meeting the scientific criteria for the award and is published in a peer-reviewed journal.
