Asociación Meteorológica Española (AME) runs a biennial meteo video competition. The winner of Meteovideo’2020 is El cielo afortunado, compiled using some spectacular time lapse videos taken on Tenerife Island, Spain, by Roberto Porto Mata.

The second prize is awarded to “El poder de las tormentas” by Alberto Lunas Arias, and the third prize to “Pura adrenalina” by Jose Miguel García García. Both entries consisted of videos of thunderstorms.

Fotoinvierno

Recently AME published the results of its photo competition, “Fotoinvierno’2020”. Contestants could submit photos taken in December 2019, January or February 2020. The winning photo is “Las damas verdes” by Enric Navarrete Bachs, taken on the Lofoten Islands, Norway. The second prize is given for “Galerna invernal” taken by Imanol Zuaznabar from the Cantabric Coast, in the North of Spain, and the third prize is for “Cascada de colores” by Alfons Puertas Castro from Barcelona.

The 50 photos included in the voting by the jury can be seen – arranged by classification – at AME’s Photo Gallery “Fotometeo” .
