October 2018
Hello everyone,

Welcome to the October edition of the European Meteorological Society newsletter. Last month we held a very successful annual conference in the beautiful city of Budapest so it's not surprising that we have included some articles on that theme in this edition, such as the impressions of our Hungarian graphical artist on the event, the views of realclimate.org co-founder and how the EMS Young Scientist awardee benefited by participating.

The Annual conference is our main meeting each year but our Member Societies are busy all year around holding various interesting events. In this edition we bring you articles from Romania, Italy, Spain, Ireland, UK, France and Finland and a new Meteorological Society in Estonia. You'll also find a few interviews, tweets of the month, hear from the new IABM President and can read all about the European Severe Storms Laboratory that we have collaborated with since its founding.

Our next edition will be out before Christmas. If you'd like to write any articles or news items for inclusion please get in touch. You'll find further info here. As always if you've any suggestions for improvements or new content, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

We hope you enjoy reading the wide variety of articles in this edition. Please feel free to share with anyone you think may be interested.
