Hello everyone,
We are pleased to introduce 2 brand new sections in the August edition of the ems-message; the “Interview of the month with a member of a Society”, where a member of IMS tells us how her fascination about the weather started, and the “Tweet of the month” that reflected on a hot topic during an even hotter month!
You will also find our usual interesting weather related articles, this time with picks from Ireland, Spain, the UK, Iceland and the Czech Republic. These cover themes such as historical rainfall data, a pioneer wave power plant, gardening in a changing climate and much more. In the Interviews of the Month we talk with the president of the Hungarian Meteorological Society (MMT), the hosts of the forthcoming EMS2018, and the Dutch Meteorological Society (NVBM), a very active and dynamic association.
