Dear readers,
we have an exciting week ahead of us: abstract submission closing, the next EMS Webinar, deadline for EMS Young Scientist Award nominations .... but first, we are delighted to announce that our EMS past-Treasurer Heinke Schlünzen will receive this year's EMS Outstanding Contribution Award!
This Wednesday we have the next EMS Webinar: Dr Friederike (Fredi) Otto and Dr Ben Clarke will present: Rapidly attributing extreme weather events to climate change.
If you missed last week's event on EMS's journey to Net Zero with Liz Bentley, we highly recommend to use the opportunity to watch the recording. Our next Webinars are scheduled: 21 May: Brigitte Perrin & Saeid Vaghefi with the presentation: askWMO: AI can help make weather, climate and water information more accessible. 02 July: How do I prepare for the EMS Annual Meeting? All details, updates and recordings you'll find at the Webinar page.
Awards: Also this Wednesday is the last day to submit nominations for the EMS Young Scientist Award, recognizing the achievements of an early career scientist. Find this and the calls for the EMS Tromp Award in Biometeorology (30 April) and for the three EMS Media awards (15 May) below.
