Committees

Accreditation

Mission

To exchange information on existing accreditation schemes and codes of practice, and to make recommendations for the implementation of such schemes, particularly with a view to ensuring that professional meteorologists may practise in any or all European countries.

Background

The EMS seeks to promote the highest professional and ethical standards in the profession and actively supports, through its Accreditation Committee, the development of professional qualifications and other means of accreditation by Member Societies. Within the European Union the qualifications may be recognised across member states by application of the  relevant directive.
