| EMS Silver Medal Laureates 2008 | |

Karin Labitzke will receive the EMS Silver Medal for her many and longstanding contributions to the development and the advancement of the science of meteorology and furtherance of international collaboration. |

René Morin will receive the EMS Silver Medal for his outstanding contributions to the development of lasting collaboration amongst the national meteorological societies in Europe that led to the foundation of the EMS. |
| The EMS Silver Medal was established in 2008 and is presented annually to a person who has made distinguished contributions to the development of meteorology in Europe. In 2008 two EMS Silver Medals are awarded. The Awards will be presented at the 8th EMS Annual Meeting, 29 September - 3 October 2008, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. |
