New EMS Member Society: Bulgarian Meteorological Society joins EMS
A section “Meteorologists” was established within the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria (UPB). This section is acting as the Bulgarian Meteorological Society (BMS)and will work to include more members and unify all professionals with interests in the atmospheric sciences in Bulgaria.
The section “Meteorologists” starts now with 30 members mainly working at the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) at the Bulgarian academy of Sciences (BAS). The potential of the newly formed section “Meteorologists” is wide, as actions are taken to invite all professionals in the field from other research, education institutions and governmental, as well as from industry.
The BMS has applied for Membership in the EMS and the 13th EMS General Assembly warmly welcomed the new partner in the EMS network.
The president of BMS is Ekaterina Batchvarova.
