Norwegian Meterological Society publishes a weather book for children

An initiative of the board and active members of the Norwegian Met Society has now come to a successful end: a nice book about weather, for children in early school age, is now in the book stores.

HMD - Challenges in meteorology 2012

The Croatian Meteorological Society (HMD) is organising the second scientific-professional conference "Challenges in meteorology 2".

This year the subject is  "Meteorology in the public eye".

This event is organized by the SMF, French Association of Meteorology and Climate, with support and under the patronage of the World Meteorological Organization

With organized activities and workshops dedicated to general public and schoolchildren, the priority will be given to the environment education, to energy consumption and greenhouse gas reduction, and to adopting an innovative and environmentally - protective behavior.

HMS is co-organising  the COMECAP 2012: 11th International Conference on Meteorology, Climatology and Atmospheric Physics, Athens, 30 May – 1 June 2012.
Abstract submission deadline: 15 September 2011.

The Irish Meteorological Society has recently created an 'Interview Section' on its website, where people working in various meteorological related fields are asked a serious of questions. So far the list includes professors, wind analysts, weather forecasters, storm chasers, phenologists among others. 

2012 EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference
3 - 7 September 2012, Sopot, Poland

Joining EUMETSAT in the organisation and hosting of the event will be the Polish Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW).
Traditionally EUMETSAT aims to give special emphasis to one of the many topical themes challenging meteorologists the world over; the focus in 2012 will be on the hydrological cycle.
