COSMO/CLM/ART Training Course 2018
12 – 16 March 2018 in Langen, Germany.
This Training Course, which will provide theoretical lessons for an introduction to numerical weather prediction and regional climate modelling. Practical exercises are offered on working with the model system in all these different modes. They give the opportunity to compile the programs, run the model and analyze the output of NWP and RCM runs using standard scripts. They are offered in parallel for two different groups:
- NWP research applications,
- Climate research applications.
An optional introductory course on compiling and running with the new accelerated dynamical core will be held as part of the COSMO / CLM / ART Training Course 2018.
The (C++) accelerated dynamical core is a new component of the COSMO model that can be used to run faster on traditional CPU system and which is required to run the model on heterogeneous GPU systems.
The course will take place Friday 16 March 2018 from 13:30 to 18:30.
For those who are already registered, if you want to participate in the additional course, please write a short mail to: COSMO-CCLM.Training@dwd.de
Please note, that ACHAT Hotel Langen also offers rooms under the same conditions until Saturday.
In case of further questions regarding the accelerated dynamical core course please contact: Xavier.Lapillonne@meteoswiss.ch
- for registration: January 19th, 2018.
