Silver Medal recipient 2009
The European Meteorological Society has chosen Professor Lennart Bengtsson, the former director of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, and of the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology, as Laureate of the EMS Silver Medal 2009. He is honoured for his outstanding leadership in the development of numerical weather prediction and climate research.
The Silver Medal was presented to Lennart Bengtsson at the Award Ceremony on 30 September 2009 during the EMS Annual Meeting in Toulouse, France. His Silver Medal Lecture was entitled
