Harry Otten Prize for Innovation in Meteorology

logo Harry Otten FoundationThe Harry Otten Foundation has announced the Harry Otten Prize for Innovation in Meteorology.

The winner of the prize receives 25,000, and it is also foreseen to grant a lower amount for the second and third prize. Winners will retain full rights to their ideas but when wanted help is offered to realize the winning ideas.

Prize 2017

Three finalists are selected to make a presentation during the EMS Annual Meeting 2017 in Dublin on 4 September 2017, with the Harry Otten Board making the selection on the same day. The winner will be announced on 5 September 2017 during the Awards Session in Dublin.
The name of the three finalists will be announced towards the end of June 2017.

Prize 2015

The prize in 2015 was presented during the 15th EMS Annual Meeting and 12th ECAM on 8 September 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The winner is Olivier Boucher for his idea “Low-cost upper troposphere observations for weather prediction from automated detection of aviation contrails”.
